What happens when I SSH in from a remote machine with a rather different
X server configuration in a different administrative domain? What
happens when I use a machine not running Debian? What happens when not
all the X servers in the network have a uniform configuration? What
happens when I add X fonts in my user configuration?

This is looking about as reliable as trying to express dependancies on
kernel features.
