Anthracite PowerPC

Hi all,

A friend of mine just get is Anthracite PowerMac (450MHz G4/256MB/27GB).
He agree on putting a linux version on it. Does anybody try to install 
Debian Linux on such a machine ?

It has a DVD-RAM, does Debian Linux supporting it ?

Does the following files be fine ?
base2_2.tgz  basecont.txt  drv14-1.bin  resc1440.bin  root1440.bin

boot with resc1440 and root1440
mkfs on the partition I want for linux
tar + gunzip base2_2.tgz

The only unknown thing for me is bootX (working on a diskless, screenless 
VME Board), I will have a look in the docs...
