After more than 5 years of Fvwm2 I switched to GNOME and Sawmill last week.
I haven't noticed such a problem yet, but I'm using the plain Debian
XF68_FBDev.

Note that this is on PPC, not on m68k (don't dare to GNOME on slow m68k boxes
:-)
