When does it panic?   Are you using Gabriel's patches? I don't understand
why since stock 2.2.12 now works out of the box now that all of Moto's
changes have finally been included.

Crosscompiling isn't the problem, that works fine.

That's fine too.  I do all my builds natively on a 100% up-to-date potato
box...I can find a 2301 if necessary to test, but it shouldn't have any
problems with stock 2.2.12.
