not sure, ...

there is UDF supportin recent kernels, but i think it is read only, not sure, better would be to check.

i thought it is not possible to burn ordinary CDs in a dvd ram drive, but i am sure a normal cd writer or even a cd rw will work ok, with plain cdrecord or xcdroast.
