I had the PB2400c running about 1h 45 min under quite some load - 
compiling kernels twice :). I found that adjusting the screen backlight
to lowest level makes the battery last quite a bit longer.

I haven't touched my pb for quite some time now (and the battery
is currently dead-on), so I'm afraid I can't help you with pmud
data, there.

However: the pb2400 battery is a Li-Ion accu, which is said to have
no memory-effect, so it *should* not be necessary to fully decharge
and then re-charge the bat. but it *might* help :)
I would not recommend trying to "repair" the battery, as it is mainly
a chemical compound and the skills required are more in the
plastic molding / chemical compound department than in electronics
wiring.
