Airport card on PowerBook G4

I've got one of the latest PowerBooks (1280x854) and am trying to get my airport card to work.

Using BenH's 2.4.20-pre5-ben0 kernel sources:
I've built with PCMCIA support, failed to detect PCMCIA bridge.

I've then tried building without PCMCIA support, built and installed pcmcia-source. This detects the PCMCIA slot:

  Linux PCMCIA Card Services 3.1.33
    kernel build: 2.4.20-pre5-ben0 unknown
    options: [pci] [cardbus] [apm]
  Intel ISA/PCI/CardBus PCIC probe:
    TI 1410 rev 02 PCI-to-CardBus at slot 10:1a, mem 0xa0000000
host opts [0]: [pci only] [pci irq 58] [lat 16/32] [bus 17/20]
PCI card interrupts, polling interval = 1000 ms

but when I try to modprobe airport I get:

modprobe hermes
modprobe orinoco
modprobe orinoco_cs
  /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/pcmcia/orinoco_cs.o: unresolved symbol orinoco_setup
  /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/pcmcia/orinoco_cs.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/pcmcia/orinoco_cs.o failed
  /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/pcmcia/orinoco_cs.o: insmod orinoco_cs failed

modprobe airport
  /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/airport.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameter?s
  /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/airport.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/airport.o failed
  /lib/modules/2.4.20-pre5-ben0/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/airport.o: insmod airport failed

any thoughts anybody?
