Thanks, this is actually convincing and I am going to implement this change
for the next upload. However, it will take a little longer until the next
upload happens as I am currently reworking the package based on Apple's latest
version of the HFS upstream code [1].

My fork of Apple's HFS repository can be found in [2] and is currently work
in progress. I will hopefully finished within the next weeks.
