Bug#901931: timidity-daemon: upgrading to 2.14.0-3 breaks whole sound-system
Package: timidity-daemon
Version: 2.14.0-3
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
after the daily upgrade of my testing-system where also timidity and timidity-daemon were upgraded
my whole sound-system was broken: pulseaudio didn't find the sound-card, jack-server wasn't
able to start. The sound-device seemed to be blocked to these sound-servers, although some
applications like audacious could access it and play sound.
Whatever happend (and believe me it took a while to figure out that timidity was the reason of
all this mess!) - after killing the running timiditiy-process as root all sound-problems were gone
and all was fine again.
Hopefully you can fix the problem. Until then I'll have to purge the timidity-daemon package.
Thanks for maintaining the packages!
Klaumi
