Package: irda-common
Version: 0.9.14-18

I have a couple of suggestions for this package:
- it chips with findchip. Shouldn't preconfigure run findchip and use
that information instead of asking the user whether he/she has a FIR
supported chip (something I had no idea)

- The init script doesn't deal with FIR chips.
irattach sends the hostname to proc and so forth, but if you use a
FIR chip, you don't need irattach, so you need to run the following
  in the init script:
  echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/irda/discovery
  echo `hostname` > /proc/sys/net/irda/devname

- The biggest problem however is that FIR will fail to load properly as
long as you don't have this in the initscript:
  /bin/setserial /dev/ttyS1 uart none port 0x0 irq 0
The package should _really_ include a FIR section and disable the serial
port, otherwise irda will not work at all
(I spent too many hours having to research this, and wish the package
had done this for me :-)

Thanks
Marc
