Package: rsh-client Version: 0.17-12 Severity: normal (the server and client in question here are debian version 0.17-12. I am not sure wether this applies to other versions as well). "rlogin invoked from rsh does not propagate the window size." example: using rlogin $ rlogin frank .. $ stty -a speed 38400 baud; rows 35; columns 142; line = 0; All is well. Using rsh (which invoked rlogin) does not do this, however: $ rsh frank .. $ stty -a speed 38400 baud; rows 0; columns 0; line = 0; I didn't notice this because I usually invoke rsh by means of a symlink: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Mar 9 03:16 frank -> /usr/bin/rsh $ frank .. $ stty -a speed 38400 baud; rows 35; columns 142; line = 0; So rlogin invoked from rsh does not propagate the window size IFF rsh is actually being named "rsh" (instead of being a hostname). This is the majority of cases, though. Maybe some signals are being disabled and not being restored? -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (700, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8.1 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 Versions of packages rsh-client depends on: hi libc6 2.3.2.ds1-11 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an -- no debconf information
