I tried the new xcopilot so that I could do various testing things
without screwing with my real data.

I was not successful.

When I tried with the rom (pilot 2.0) that obtained using pi-getrom, the screen
showed "Welcome to PalmPilot" and emitted "Illegal instruction: 4944"
about once a second until I killed it.

I then tried the debug 2.0 rom from the 3com devel site. I had the most
success here but it's still unusable since the display is half-height
and width on the representation of the pilot. The display is also
duplicated horizontally. This might be related to the 16 bpp bug
mentioned in the change log since I used 15 bpp here at home. I'll try
this at work tomorrow where I use 24 bpp.

When I tried the debug 3.0 rom the 3com devel site, xcopilot just exits
without doing anything...

Xcopilot has been removed from the Debian distribution. If you haven't
already, I suggest you install the pose package and use it instead of
xcopilot for your Palm emulation needs. =20
