Package: kdm
Version: 4:4.11.8-1
Severity: normal

Hi KDE maintainers,

I've recently installed kde, and I'm facing the following problem: At
boot, kdm does not start. The screen has the blinking cursor of a
console, but strangely there is a mouse visible (and movable, although
clicking does nothing). After switching to VT 1, the mouse is still
visible. Restarting the kdm service makes kdm load normally.

I'm using systemd. Please find attached kdm.log, X log and systemd journal
of /u/b/kdm. The X and kdm logs are from just before a restart of kdm.

I tried to parse the kdm man page to get verbose logs, but I couldn't.
If you need verbose logs please tell me what value the -debug option
needs.

Thanks

It turns out the problem was that I had copied a gdm systemd service
file which didn't honor the selected session manager. Thus the problem
was that both kdm and gdm were being started at the same time.

Sorry for the noise.
