Thank you for your report.

I have been unable to reproduce the crash, though I did find a missing
optional runtime dependency that fixes the "Failed to find a Kirigami
platform plugin" message itself in my test VMs.

This was an important clue because the dependency,
qml-module-org-kde-qqc2desktopstyle, is also a dependency of
plasma-desktop so the error does not appear in a typical debian plasma
environment. But I was able to reproduce it in xfce and lxqt.

If you are still using this package, does installing
qml-module-org-kde-qqc2desktopstyle fix your crash?
