After checking with Adam, I have uploaded a deb10u9 (including the deb10u8 changes) with a couple of security fixes to buster-security. deb10u8 should make it into buster, and if any follow-up changes are needed, a deb10u10 update based on deb10u9 could be done to buster-proposed-updates.
