RFS xsimd [was Re: Bug#994169: xsimd: debci tests fail on generic i386 (warning sent to stderr?)]

Dear all,
I've committed Drew's suggested change to the xsimd repository on Salsa 
in order to solve #994169. This version passes autopkgtest in a `sbuild 
--arch=i386` local environment. If my change looks good to you, could I 
get a sponsored upload of xsimd?
