SS2 potato : esp0 problem

Hi,

I have some trouble installing potato linux on a sparc station 2.

Info on my system :probe-scsi-all
/sbus@1,f8000000/esp@0,800000
Target 3
  Unit 0 Disk MAXTOR LXT-213S SUN02074.17
Target 6
Unit 0 Removable Read Only device PHILIPS CDD2600 1.0710/21/96

I boot the station from a potato CDrom. At first it seems to work
...
esp0: IRQ 3 SCSI ID 7 Clk 25MHz CCF=5 TOut 167 NCR53C90A(esp100a)
...
...
And then this message repeats forever and the kernel don't want to go further:
esp0: Warning, live target 0 not responding to selection

I set the SCSI ID of the cd to 0. This way I could install linux. But now I
need the cdrom drive on another station. If I try to boot without the cdrom
drive attached as ID 0, I get the everrepeating warning message. The station is
unusable.

Any help appreciated,
Christophe.
