Re: unable to boot on the netinst CD

The partition check errors are just informational I believe... its the ramdisk problem that comes *after* this partition check message that the bootup chokes at.

Hi,

If i use the testing-netinst the installation works fine if I install
the stable release. But when I boot up I've got the same errors with
the partition check as before. (see below)
If I try to install the Etch version with the installer it stops at
'couldn't find debs for ipchains'.
Any clues ?
thanks,

Hi,

I've removed two stick (out of 4) of memory, and try to change their
slot (from 0-1 to 2-3), but neither attempt worked. I tried
with/without ramdisk_size=16000.
I believe the :
Partition check:
hda:end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 2
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 4
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 6
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 8
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 10
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 12
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:00 (hda), sector 14

Should not be worring because Linux is not yet installed on this disk.
(still an old solaris)

I've google a bit, and I've found nothing which works.
Any hints on this ?
I do not believe it is enough so solve your problem, but beware of
#305230.
