Potato Test Installation results

i downloaded the Debian Potato Test Cycle 2 CD images and installed it
on my home machine overtop of the Mandrake 7.1 i was testing :)

ABit BP-6
1 Celeron 400
128MB RAM
Diamond Stealth III 540 (32MB AGP)
30GB ATA66 HD (Highpoint controller)
4GB ATA33 HD (Intel PIIX)
IDE ZIP-100
Plextor 32/8/4 CDRW

it went perfectly! (other than a partitioning glitch that was entirely
my fault. still learning to read...) i've been banging on it for a few
days now with no problems at all to report. i started the install by
booting from the first CD. the installation seemed to be much smoother
and faster than before (the last version i installed from CD at home
was 2.0, and this is a vast improvement. skipped the 2.1 CDs, but had
a 2.1 system via lots of Zipdisks).

I installed it as the only OS on the 4GB drive. it didn't see the ATA66
drive by default, but going to a custom 2.3.99 kernel solved that.

great work, people. i'm eagerly awaiting this release.

Linux: It is now safe to turn on your computer.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some
coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows.
