[im pretty sure this is the wrong forum but i hope somebody can tell me where
this comment should be directed.]

I run xdm by logging in as root and starting it by hand as suggested here.
Thats a bit annoying but its even more annoying if i cant get out of xdm when
i want to.  

Could anybody here tell me why it is that xdm doesnt support 
something like:  

if you log in as root, the menu should have an additional 
option besides exiting the window manager, it should also allow you to exit
xdm as well.  

Im willing to post this question  to proper list if i can figure 
out what list that is.

[thanks, its been real instructive watching the releases get tested and i hope
some day soon i can contribute more materially to the testing...]
