INSTALL REPORT

Date: 2:10 December 8th
Method: Booted the CD image in bochs and ran through the first few steps.

Machine: bochs
Processor: N/A

Root Size/partition table: 504 MB, no partitions yet
Output of lspci: /bin/sh: lspci: not found (it must not be included on
                                             the initrd)

Reboot: [ ]
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Comments/Problems:

There is clearly a dependency structure between the options presented at
the "Load Installer Modules" step. The user shouldn't have to infer it
beforehand; if an option is selected, its dependencies should also be
selected.

For instance: if the user selects option 2,
"Configure the network via DHCP", the following message appears:

"No dhcp client found. I cannot continue. This package requires
   pump or dhcp-client"

The program should have automatically installed option 8, "Simple
DHCP/BOOTP client for debian-installer".

  Daniel

(Last split, hope the last ones finally go through this time. Note to self:
BTS seems to eat everything with five addresses or more, unconditionally...)

I'm closing a bunch of old installation reports that do not appear to be
related to the current state of the installer (ie. report problems that has
been fixed now; some of these should have been closed ages ago, but never
was). Feel free to test the d-i beta and submit new installation reports :-)
