Bug#318372: obscure xdvi font warning

reassign 318372 tetex-base
retitle 318372 Obsolete map files in /etc/texmf/dvips not removed during upgrade
thanks

I'm very sorry that nobody among the people processing upgrade reports
has communicated this to the TeX Task Force. In fact this bug exists in
sarge, but it has been fixed in etch. At least in a way: The duplicate
files are still there, but they are no longer used.

That's a correct solution, but the problem shouldn't have appeared in
the first place.

I do think that it should have started with the upgrade. The issue is
documented in (sarge's) tetex-base's README.Debian, section "2. Changes
in handling of map files (unneeded files in /etc/texmf/dvips)"

Although the warning will dissappear when upgrading to etch, even if the
files have not been removed as described in the README, I think we
better clean them up. And we already have code for this in the package,
but I just found that it doesn't work.
