Kernel image 5.14.0-1 doesn't boot

I installed the latest kernel image, linux-image-5.14.0-1-amd64, and my
system will not boot with that image. I can boot with the older iamage,
but with the latest image the computer hangs at 

Loading Initial Ramdisk.

Is anyone else having this problem?
