Please check if your system has the following structure;
civic:~$ ls -ld /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2003-09-01 21:15 /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config -> /etc/texmf/dvipdfm/
civic:~$ ls /etc/texmf/dvipdfm/config
/etc/texmf/dvipdfm/config
and if /etc/texmf/dvipdfm/config doesn't exist, then
please install tetex-base with
dpkg -i --force-confmiss tetex-base_2.0.2-4.2.deb
if only symlink is lost then it will be enough to do
cd /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm
ln -s /etc/texmf/dvipdfm config
Did you upgrade from 2.0.2-4.2 to 4.3 and
2.0.2-4.2 had been working? If so then this would
be an accident and not a bug.
If you upgraded from rather older version (e.g. woody version)
to 2.0.2-4.3 then it could be a bug, but I can't believe it.
BTW, I'd like to know the followings;
(if you remembered them)
did you see debconf note which asked you hyphenation
patterns to load?
if so then what was the default selection? Was it
"no selection", or "french and ngerman" or something
else?
If installation process hadn't gone into this stage
yet then please check the result when you succeed
to install tetex-bin.
Thanks in advance, 2003-9-2(Tue)
