It looks like this line was lost when the copyright notice was
updated.  According to older files I have here, it used to be
\documentclass{article}.  I forwarded the information to the author.

I didn't contributed a lot: I only sent a bug report (with a
patch) to Peter Williams.  I asked him in the meantime if he could add
some distribution license to his files, what he kindly did.
