Yes, that's what I said: asamples.tex *and* the archaic fonts in TL 2005
are old (from 2000) and have errors, asamples.tex and the font setup on
CTAN and in TL 2007 is from 2006 and works.

Yes, but only if I try the newer file with old texlive.  In TL 2007,
there's no problem left.
