This is a mischaractarization. eforms.sty generates pdfs which work perfectly fine with software such as Chromium and Firefox, and does not require Acrobat to be used. Is the issue that the acrotex bundle includes some files which work only with Acrobat? (If so, could you include just eforms.sty and the files eforms.sty needs to function?)
