The Debianh 1.2.13 kernel doesn't have 2940 support because 2940 support was
not devolped for that kernel at that time. Support for it came out in the
1.3.5 and higher kernels I think - you're best bet might be to download the
1.3.xx (cant remember exactly) bootdisk and use that to boot off.
