Re: scilab not working?

I'm using scilab 2.3 under Debian bo, however it is not an .deb package.
I just downloaded the sources from
ftp://ftp.inria.fr/INRIA/Projects/Meta2/Scilab/scilab-2.3-src.tar.gz
(Well, now only wersion 2.3.1 is available:
ftp://ftp.inria.fr/INRIA/Projects/Meta2/Scilab/scilab-2.3.1-src.tar.gz
I don't know if it compiles as easy as 2.3)
Unpacked the sources into /usr/local/scilab-2.3
and typed './configure; make all'.
Then I've set some symlinks in /usr/local/bin:
scilab -> /usr/local/scilab-2.3/bin/scilab
intersci -> /usr/local/scilab-2.3/bin/intersci
BEpsf -> /usr/local/scilab-2.3/bin/BEpsf
In this way I've got a newer version of Scilab, and everything works fine.
I hope this helps :-).
