You don't need to do the floppy thing. [I assume you mean that you have
to wait for it to give its banner, then a hit a key, then insert the
rescue floppy.] Linux can read the disk just fine, AND compensate for
the DDO. I have a box here with DDO installed on the second disk from when
it was the primary in another PC, and it's just fine.
