Every single car I own gets 23MPG or better in city, if I keep my foot
out of it. It is amazing what fuel injection, modestly high compression,
a 5-speed manual transmission and a 2.93:1 axle ratio can do in those
older cars. Now if I put my foot into them they all drop to below 12MPG
(well the '69, '84 and '87 drop far below that with the '69 getting
gallon+ per mile... and I also get to buy new tires more frequently if I
do)

Of course, I drive my Lancer as my daily, it get 33+MPG on the highway.
The Galant is the wife's it gets 25MPG city, 30MPG highway.

So, I guess Al Gore using a private jet and huge limos and other large
contingents of vehicles makes him a non-enemy (yes, I used that term
intentionally).
