If only searching whether a string is contained therein, or wanting a list,
it can be simpler:
# uname -v

# which lsinitrd
/usr/bin/lsinitrd
# apt-file search /usr/bin/lsinitrd
dracut-core: /usr/bin/lsinitrd
# lsinitrd /initrd.img | wc -l
455
