Perhaps their provider is throwing away the responses (or hiding them in the spam box, which nearly amounts to the same). Big mail providers are like that these days. When the OP doesn't think of double-checking (e.g. by looking into the Web archives), they'll assume their mail hasn't made it. Resending seems like a valid option. But then... who knows.
