That's absolutely correct: indeed that is the URL that I sent to the
original debian-volatile list, but I think that the '/pub' was dropped
by accident when it was added to the mirrors page.

The 302 from PlanetMirror is expected - anonymous requests to that URL
are redirected to 'http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/debian-volatile/'
and authenticated to 'http://premium.planetmirror.com/...'.  Is that
actually a problem for apt-get?  If so then I suggest that the mirror
listing be changed to use 'public.planetmirror'.
