Bug#157252: ITP: sysmon -- A tree-based network monitoring tool

I'll take this ITP as there was no progress since Feb 2004. The Debian package is in preparation.

I really have some concerns with the package. I am almost done with the packaging and it works fine, but the C code base has some serious problems. Debugging the code was a mess, mainly because the debugging code included in the source had some format string bugs which I had to fix. Within the IMAP checking routine the buffer was too tiny for the banner of courier-imap.

I'll delay the upload of this package some weeks and spend the time testing it in production. I hope that there aren't such security problems within the server-side code.

It would be nice to hear some supporting statements of people who use this piece of software.

Philipp Kern
