In other words, in my opinion the right approach would be to port Bazel
to the current j-d-u project, submit the patch upstream and thus reduce
the number of packages depending on the legacy j-d-u.
Uploading unmaintained legacy code with questionable licensing is a big
meh in my book.
Wow. Good points. I agree and thanks for bringing them up! I'm willing to deal with a lot to get good code into Debian but licensing issues is typically not one of them... :/ Better to know about such things sooner than later...
Sudip: I appreciate your enthusiasm here but in light of this issue perhaps it may be better if you looked at one of the other packages instead.
