It is a great addition for desktop envirohnments such as MATE, whose built-in application launcher has only core function. Its features include fuzzy search, custom skins, shortcuts, plugins, and commands. Ulauncher is excellent at launching applications, searching through folders, opening files – all with an eye candy preview window. It would be great to have, because all the predecessors such as synapse seem to have been orphaned. It has been packaged for Ubuntu already, a ppa is available.
