Bug#1052444: ITA: librepfunc -- set of C++ classes and utilities for building multimedia tools

Hello Phil,

Thank you for your ITA. Apostolos recently showed also some interest in
adopting the packages (librepfunc & w-scan-cpp) although, IIRC he's a beginner
in packaging. I gave him some directions. Maybe you could get in touch and
discuss how you want to go further on this matter.

As of today the packages are up to date in salsa but since I'm not a DD (and
not a DM) I can't upload anyway. So you may upload them to unstable.

For now the repo is located under my account. Would you like permission on the
repo, or maybe you could move it to the "debian" group, or "vdr-team" group
(where the older w-scan is located).

There is a particularity with w-scan-cpp that one has to be aware of: it is a
multiple upstream tarball package. So it uses the "component" feature for the
"vdr" directory. You can grab more info on components in uscan(1) manpage.
Because of this we have to ensure that upstream released the files (w-scan-cpp
& third party packages) with same version number. See d/watch.
The d/gbp.conf file already takes care of that aspect.

Upstream author is very kind and was very helpful in adapting his software
with the changes that were required to create the package. For the last update
he even asked me if the changes he planned would be fine and how they would
impact the Debian package, or how to coordinate on the impact.

If you need assitance, please don't hesitate.

Regards
Fab
