   I have in my ~/.Xdefaults:

XClipboard*Text*Font:    -*-koi8-r
XClipboard*Command*Font:    -*-koi8-r
XClipboard*Label*Font:    -*-koi8-r

and the environment is:

$ set | egrep LC_
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_TIME=C
$ set | egrep LANG
LANG=ru_RU.KOI8-R

With the following font packages installed:

xfonts-cronyx-koi8r-100dpi
xfonts-cronyx-koi8u-100dpi
xfonts-cyrillic
scalable-cyrfonts

and the following /etc/locale.gen:

# [...] Comments...
en_GB ISO-8859-1
en_US ISO-8859-1
es_ES@euro ISO-8859-15
es_ES ISO-8859-1
ru_RU.KOI8-R KOI8-R

I can copy text from the homepage, and paste back to, say, the search textbox.
Works fine (?).

   Any idea?
