Bug#390503: compiz: Missing window borders

Hi,

i had the same problem with both of my laptops. One having an ati radeon
mobility x300 (using r300 driver) and the other one having an intel
i915. Compiz would start nicely and all effects were available but no
window border were present, although gtk-window-decorator was running.
So i created a fresh user account and tried compizusing that account.
Well, it worked flawlessly. I could track the problem down to the
following folders in my home directory: 
.gconf
.gconfd
.gnome2
.gnome2_private

So try to login from console, and move those folders to another place.
