There's a paragraph about Solaris, but it is not clear that the next
paragraph applies only to Solaris too. In particular, with the way
it is said, Solaris was just an example, and the previous paragraph
didn't apply to Solaris only:

  Some vendors, e.g,. Sun, have added key translations which make the [...]
                ^^^^^^^^^

So, it is about "some vendors", not necessarily restricted to Sun.

But the FAQ is distributed with the Debian package, making this
unclear.

You could add something like "or another OS-dependent pathname".
