As said on IRC, I think xfce4-xmms-plugin is badly broken.
To detect the currently installed media player, it tries to open the
following files:
libxmms.so
libbeep.so
libaudacious.so
wich don't exist.
xmms is to be removed, beep-media-player doesn't exist anymore in
unstable. And currently the plugin isn't usable at all.
What do you think of removing completely this plugin from debian? Maybe
we could patch it or have it patched upstream, but I don't really think
it's a viable plugin anyway (seems unmaintained upstream anyway).
Thoughts?
