Package: apt
Version: 0.5.9
Severity: minor
File: /usr/share/man/man5/apt.conf.5.gz

At many places in the man page you refer to a apt.conf file. You
should mention apt.conf.d instead, as that is what users find these days.

Nope. You can use both, it's just apt doesn't need an apt.conf file by
default, as it's defaults are sane.
