Bug#205829: apt-get manpage could explicitly mention "front-ends"
Package: apt
Version: 0.5.4
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
Some users might be confused when the manpage mentions that apt is a
"back-end" and does not mention any front-ends to package managemente. The
SEE ALSO section mentions 'dselect' but maybe it should be mentioned more
explicitly thus:
--- apt-get.8.orig 2003-08-17 01:24:51.000000000 +0200
+++ apt-get.8 2003-08-17 01:26:55.000000000 +0200

\fBapt-get\fR is the command-line tool for handling packages, and may be
considered the user's "back-end" to other tools using the APT library.
+(Note: if you are not interested in "back-ends" but rather want to use a
+"front-end" you should look at \fBdselect\fR, among others)

Unless the \fB-h\fR, or \fB--help\fR option is given, one of the
commands below must be present.
