A checklist of formal invitation letter provide from ArneGoetje: 1. The invitation letter should be in Spanish 2. it needs to be adressed to the official in the Spanish embassy, not to AndrewLee. 3. It needs to state _who_ is inviting AndrewLee (since Debconf is not an official organization, the invitation is *private*!) and for which purpose. 4. It needs to state that the accommodation is private if it's not a hotel and that the organizer has taken care of everything already (i.e. there is no hotel booking record involved) 5. it needs to state that all the financial issues (AndrewLee's lodging, food, etc.) is payed by the organizer and that AndrewLee has no financial obligations 6. it needs to contain AndrewLee's passport number 7. it needs to contain the contact address and telephone number for the one who is inviting AndrewLee 8. it should ask the officer to contact the guy who invites AndrewLee directly for any questions. 9. it should close with a sentence like "please issue a visum for the given timeframe" (in Spanish of course).
