IMHO, 42556 is, mainly, documentation issues. If, and only if, the patches
proposed by Henrique M. Holschuh are applied, the severity of 42556 can be
decreased from important to normal, and merged with 42965, 53312 and 55500
(documentation problems --- already merged). The documentation needs some
extra work for woody, but it would no more be release-critical for potato.
BTW, the more "interesting" report in 42556 is about the APM problems. But,
as specified by the submitter :
----------------------------QUOTING------------------------------------
* Package the README.clock file and/or add a comment about the
kernel obscure problem and a workaround (disable RTC & APM)
* During installation/upgrade of util-linux add a notice that recalls to
read the appropriate file in /usr/share/doc/util-linux/
* Reconsider the buglevel of this bug or close it, since this
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
seems a kernel issue according to README.clock and my problem, that
could be "randomly repeated" in less than a day on a HP Kayak XU 333.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
What do you think, Vincent ? Can someone else give an advice ?
Cheers,
