and what about a simple symlinking? I've created a /usr/share/locale/null
dir, deleted every directory which I'm not interested in, and created
symlinks with the same names, all pointing to that null directory.
Everything goes there, and I've saved 20 megsof disk space.
Of course, this is not a generic solution, it's just the hack to make
installer content and not keep much *.mo on your drive.
And what is the purpose of the LINGUAS environment variable? doesn't it do
exactly what this discusion is about - only allow installing of certain
language files? (Haven't tried this. sorry)
