Re: dpkg urgent wishlist : Delayed Configuration override
i like the idea of having two postinst/configure scripts :
one for the critical part and one for the normal stuff.
the basic idea is :
- the system must be stable during the installation
- the configuration should be delayed till all packages are unpacked,
so dpkg won't stop after processing 30% to ask something
and we should make it policy to have a minimal input/output during
installation and configuration. for example install-mime and xserver*
should be changed not to ask anything when upgrading.
