Bingo.

I've been spending a bunch of time recently trying to merge at least
some of the various personal finance package development teams (cbb,
xacc, watermark, GnuMoney, etc.) into one effort, and it looks like it
may actually succeed, be based on GTK with optional Gnome extensions,
and have a separate engine with a defined API so that emacs or slib or
whatever interfaces can be slapped on top. We'll see...

I've also been trying to track down some problems with emacsen-common,
merged in my getopt patches from psutils 1.16, to 1.17 and sent the
patches to the upstream author. I've fixed the segmentation fault in
scsidev (the hwtools package), and hope to get patches for that to
Christoph soon. I've resolved some bugs in hfsutils, and found and
fixed a bug in the curren tar that prevents it working with amanda
(try checking the output of tar --totals). Then I also sent patches
to the amanda-hackers list to fix the other half of the problem.

Every now and then, I pop back to debian-devel, and I see a message
about the new name for deity, and I take about 15 seconds to compose a
reply. I don't think that's a big deal. Part of the whole naming
issue discussion is just idle conversation, and it's been somewhat
amusing. As much time as we spend working together, and as often as
we end up in stupid misunderstanding because someone thought someone
else meant X when they really meant Y, it's probably not a bad thing
to chat a *little*, even if it's somewhat off-point, perhaps even
especially if it's somewhat off-point. It could save some long ugly
threads later.

I'd be surprised if anyone Bruce is agitated at has thrown enough
effort at that thread that they actually could have done a whole horde
of other meaningful work.

Whatever...
