A great much of the so-called "stolen" code was used with permission. 
That permission needs to be put in writing.  Code used without permission
needs permission to be given, or it needs to be replaced.

Since you're a self-proclaimed GNU fanatic, I'm not going to argue that
with you, but it is what they are legally required to do.
